Singer Yuju shared her struggles as a solo artist.
On the afternoon of the 7th, a press conference was held at the Shupeigen Hall located in Samsung-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul to commemorate the release of Yuju‘s second mini-album ‘O.’
When asked about the difference between making an album as a solo artist and as a girlfriend member, Yuju replied, “Everything from one to ten is different.”
“When I started my solo career, I was involved in every aspect of album production from beginning to end. There is a process of melting me down through discussions with company personnel. It’s not an easy task, and I even doubt myself, but in the end, I come to trust myself,” Yuju said.
She continued, “My girlfriend members consistently support me. Even after the release of the highlight medley, I received a lot of messages from them,” showing unwavering friendship.
Yuju‘s second mini-album, which comes 14 months after her solo debut album ‘REC,’ includes five tracks, all of which she participated in writing lyrics for, including the title track ‘Without U,’ ‘9 Years,’ ‘Dreaming,’ ‘Peach Blossom,’ and ‘Full Circle.’
The title track of Yuju‘s second mini-album, ‘Without U,’ is an attractive modern pop song with a sweet string melody that highlights Yuju‘s “vocal color”. The gradually rising vocal and powerful drum sound in the latter half also add to the charm of the song.
